Adventure Fees

The fee covers special trail rations and other food for 12 days; the use of all equipment and consumables used in the Adventure activities; transport from Cape Town to the Cederberg and return (450 km); all internal transport at the Adventure; all Wilderness Area and other camping fees; pre-Adventure literature; and the special Adventure scarf and badge.

Proof of payment by should be emailed to [email protected]. The payment reference should be your Group name or surname for individuals.

Adventure Fees

  • All payments are made electronically (EFT) and the reference is the Group name if payment is for the whole Patrol or surnames if payment is for individuals.
  • Cheques and cash are not accepted. Payments are not accepted by Regional headquarters.

South African and Namibian participants are to make payment in South African Rands.

Foreign participants are to make payment in US$,  British £ or EU € as per the above costs.

A 50% deposit is payable by 31 July 2020 for all participants. The remaining 50% is due by 30 September 2020.

Withdrawal

In the case of withdrawal of applications to attend after payment of the initial booking deposit, the following schedule applies:

  • Withdrawal between 1 September 2020 and 30 September 2020: refund of half of the deposit paid, less a R50 Admin fee.
  • Withdrawal between 1 October 2020 and 31 October 2020: no refund of the initial deposit, but a refund of the balance paid, less a R50 Admin fee.
  • Withdrawal after 31 October 2020: no refund of amounts paid.

Should a suitably qualified substitute be found to fill the place vacated by the withdrawal, there will be no loss of the deposit or other monies paid.

Who may participate

Scout Patrols where all Scouts are over the age of 15 (barring very exceptional circumstances) but not yet turned 18 at the start of the Adventure, qualify to enter. Scouter Patrols where all adults are over the age of 18 are welcome to enter too.
